Welcome to Highton Gardens Care Community

Highton Gardens Care Community is located in a scenic residential neigbourhood in Geelong with Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre just a few minutes away and the best the Geelong region has to offer on our doorstep. Our lovely gardens are delightful year-round and abloom in the spring. Our well-appointed Care Community has spacious indoor and outdoor living areas, with shaded courtyards and a gazebo ideal for entertainers to perform, loved ones to spend time together or to enjoy quiet moments of reflection.

Care at Highton Gardens

We offer a relaxing environment with the compassionate and personalised care of 24/7 registered nurses. Our experienced leadership work alongside a capable and confident team to offer residential aged care, palliative care, dementia care and respite care. Allied health professionals also visit regularly. Our state-of-the-art wellness centre enables residents to benefit from a holistic approach to wellbeing, rehabilitation and restorative care in a welcoming environment known for its excellent respite care in Geelong. We recognise that understanding the big and the little details about how you like to live each day is important to us – so that we can help you feel at home, have the right support and live your best life in our care.

Daily living at Highton Gardens

Many residents enjoy music and we’re known for hosting musicians and entertainers. Our piano is popular among both players and listeners, and our coffee cart is in demand with residents and visitors, who can enjoy a barista-style coffee any time of day. We’re a socially active Care Community and after spending time in the garden, walking, tending plants, or engaging in art, music, or other hobbies, our afternoon happy hour is a lovely way to relax.

I’m beyond thankful that I found Highton Gardens to care for my mum in her time of need. I’d only ever heard negative stories about aged care but even after 18 months since her first stay, I cannot fault a thing - especially the staff. They are professional, attentive, enthusiastic, friendly and welcoming. In fact, I now feel as though I’m arriving home when I visit. The activities and events they put on are also sensational - especially the recent cocktail party and Christmas celebrations! I am so so grateful that mum is in a safe, caring and stimulating new home. It made the difficult choice a much more comfortable and reassuring one. Our family are able to worry less and focus on spending quality time together.

We attended the recent Christmas Party at Highton Gardens and enjoyed the festivities., the music and the dancing with the residents and staff. The meal was excellent, as was the attention of the staff, who are consistently caring. The day was completed with the arrival of a very funny Santa.

I just want to thank the management and staff of OpalSouth Valley for taking so much care in looking after my 108 year old mother. I would recommend Opal to any family considering placing their loved one into care.
