Cheltenham Parkside Care Community (formerly BlueCross Autumdale) is just a short distance from local clubs, amenities, and shopping precincts such as DFO Moorabbin and Westfield Southland. Our Care Community offers spacious and comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces for residents to enjoy.

Homely and inviting, our Care Community features two residential wings, which are arranged around a sunny courtyard complete with a fountain, barbecue facilities, pergolas, and beautifully manicured gardens. Indoors, you’ll be delighted by the exquisite furnishings, including the warmly lit dining room that leads into a cosy main lounge, featuring sparkling chandeliers and a welcoming fireplace.

Care at Cheltenham Parkside Care Community

Our Care Community provides compassionate care with registered nurses onsite 24/7. Our experienced leadership works alongside a capable and confident team to offer residential aged care, palliative care, dementia care, and respite care.

To further support residents’ health and wellness, we have primary and allied health services available, including physiotherapy.

Daily Living at Cheltenham Parkside Care Community

Our care community offers seasonal menus crafted by our on-site chef, delivering fresh and nutritious meals. A dedicated wellbeing team is onsite to support residents’ holistic needs. Many residents enjoy music and art, and our social activities are designed to encourage friendship and connection. My Mum has been here now for 13 months. Fantastic aged care facility looked after my Mum. The afternoon shift staff are friendly, hard working and caring. Nurses, managers, carers and kitchen staff. Beautiful modern rooms and everytime i feed Mum at dinner time the food is cooked very well.

I advise people to not place their loved ones in this facility, especially if they are in palliative care. The staff have a mentality, a culture within the care staff, which stems from a particular nurse where the staff & this particular nurse blames the resident. The care staff & this particular nurse (that l believe is incompetent) that l saw were lazy, neglectful, lacked empathy, rough & only want to do the easiest things for residents. I have seen the care staff sitting down at 7.30pm &/or on the computer set up in the residents lounge when my loved one was not cared for. Residents asked for my help as a visitor. I watched the care staffs facial expressions, their body language which said a lot. This culture stems from the staff in charge. Be aware. I witnessed all of this. I was a personal carer for 14 years & l have never seen this degree of incompetence. The care staff ignored my loved ones help buzzer many times & admitted that in front of the said nurse whom did nothing. The help buzzer was not attached to the blanket or in reach & many times the buzzer was on the floor which again is neglectful & a lazy incompetent carer blamed my loved one for that. A carer tried to force feed my loved one. Putting a spoon of food in front of their mouth. My loved one told her no twice which was ignored. l intervened & took the spoon from her hand. God knows what happened when l wasn’t there. A few times my loved ones room was not cleaned. Breakfast & lunch trays left in the room. No continence pads we're given, no tissues which l had to ask for. I also had to ask for a toilet chair for my loved one. I also had to tell the facility what was happening to my loved one as again the same lazy incompetent nurse did not check. Again neglect. If you choose this facility bring your own nominated doctor for your loved one. I was at this facility a lot, mostly afternoon & evening/night, more than most visitors. I was aware of the negative behaviours of staff from my own professional PCA experiences. My loved one was able to communicate & had a mobile phone. Thank God for intervening as my loved one didn't return to this horrid aged care facility which l believe is now owned by Opal.

My father stayed here for four weeks before he passed away and we found all the staff we met to be genuinely caring and friendly. They were also very kind to us and helpful organising paperwork etc. Thank you to the staff there.
