Welcome to Blacktown Terrace Care Community

Blacktown Terrace Care Community is located in the heart of Sydney's greater west offering aged care to Blacktown, with easy access to transport, shopping and healthcare amenities. We offer generous accommodation, luxurious living areas, outdoor terraces and an on-site cafe to relax with friends and family. With numerous different countries of origin among our residents and team, Blacktown Terrace is a diverse and vibrant community.

Care at Blacktown Terrace

We offer a relaxing environment with the compassionate and personalised care of 24/7 registered nurses. Our experienced leadership work alongside a capable and confident team to offer residential aged care, palliative care, dementia care and respite care. Allied health professionals also visit regularly. Our memory care neighbourhood provides an environment custom-designed to support the individual needs of residents who are living with dementia. We recognise that understanding the big and the little details about how you like to live each day is important to us – so that we can help you feel at home, have the right support and live your best life in our care.

Daily Living at Blacktown Terrace

Unique to our Care Community is our ‘virtual train’, an enjoyable interactive experience for residents and families that supports memory, reminiscence and socialisation. Music is part of the heart of our Care Community. Our resident choir enjoys practicing and performing together, supported by our experienced music therapist. Art and creativity are popular and our knitting group has become known for contributing hand-knitted bears and rugs to local community charities, while our resident green thumbs nurture our veggie garden and delight in providing fresh greens for eating. We have strong relationships within the local community, including our local early learning centre.

With us, you’re free to enjoy your interests, independently or with others, continue to learn and try new things, and participate in Blacktown Terrace life – so you can enjoy your day, your way.

My mother was here for respite and recieved outstanding care. The facility is wonderful. The room and shared spaces were nice and clean. The staff are friendly, caring and looked after my mother very well. She enjoyed her stay here and the activities provided. There was also a wide range of food options which catered to all her dietary needs. I really recommend blacktown terrace care to anyone looking for respite. The team have supported myself and my mother so well. Thank you to Annie Hart for helping arrange this stay for my mother.

Blacktown Terrace Care Community is an outstanding facility that truly understands and values the needs of its residents. My placement experience at this place was incredibly rewarding and educational. From the very beginning, the staff made me feel welcome and provided clear guidance and support throughout my time there. The facility itself was well-organized, clean, and designed to ensure residents comfort and safety. I was impressed by the personalized care plans for each resident, reflecting the staff’s dedication to meeting individual needs with dignity and respect. During my placement, I had the opportunity to interact closely with residents, assist in daily tasks, and observe the compassionate approach the team took in every interaction. I also participated in various activities and programs aimed at promoting residents’ physical, mental, and emotional well-being. These experiences helped me understand the importance of empathy, patience, and effective communication in aged care. This placement not only enhanced my practical skills but also deepened my appreciation for the challenges and rewards of working in aged care. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the staff for the respite care my father received during his 7-week stay. It was clear that he was in a nurturing and supportive environment. My father truly enjoyed his time here. He participated in various group activities, which brought him joy and a sense of belonging—something he hadn’t experienced while being alone at home. The staff, especially the nurses, have been incredibly kind and helpful, making a significant difference in his daily life. I’m also pleased to share that he loves the meals provided! It’s wonderful to see him enjoying the food, which has been an unexpected delight. Thank you again for all the care and attention you have given my father. My nan passed away few weeks ago. I know the ward she was on they have dementia. But when her jewellery box and photo frames of her son and husband and what not can't be located is very upsetting! I've sent an email with photos of missing things and they can't even email me back!. They explained to me how it's possible for people to go into each other's rooms and take things. I understand that but u can't tell me a nurse don't realise things are missing from people's rooms.

I'm so disappointed in this place that I'm taking my father out of here the nr lie to me and let my father leave the nurse home putting his life at risk i had to call the police and report him missing then two weeks later my father has told me that anthor nurse has stolen his wallet and his money is gone I'm so over this place and it wouldn't surprise me if I seen this place on 60 minutes the care is not good my father feet was going black and blue so I called a ambulance to take him to hospital

From the initial phone call to walking into the facility, we were given the best service by the admin staff, nurses and the carers, especially Sharyn. We have had nothing but the best and caring service. They were extremely friendly and compassionate. Would recommend this community centre to all those people who hesitate to take this step into the transition for their elderly parents. A big thank you to each and every staff who are assisting in taking care of our mum.
